PARISH AUDIT – “We need your help and the help of your friends and neighbours. The mission committee, with the help of the Mission Development Officer, Allan Vint, are conducting an audit of the views of church members but also (and this is really crucial) non-members. At this point we would like you to take part in an online survey and (even more importantly) to give the information to everyone you know locally with a computer to take part. SHOE BOX APPEAL
Thanks to all who filled shoe boxes or handed in fillers’.
442 boxes from our church plus 49 from Benarty School and 25 from Lochgelly South. Well up from last year so well done. On the 5th November a few of us helped with custom checking in Perth and 5105 boxes were packed into a lorry ready to head to Romania.

There will be stalls for purchasing Christmas gifts, etc. Tickets are priced at £1.50. Please come along and see what is on offer and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with Christmas Fare. There are Christmas Gift envelopes with the Order of Service today.
These can be brought to the Coffee Morning or handed in by members who wish to donate before the distribution of Christmas Gift envelopes, along with the magazine, at the beginning of December. Donations given in the envelopes will be put towards the renovation fund.

We have started a ‘Drop-in’ to help those in our congregation or parish who have had a bereavement. The next one will be on Wednesday 2nd November from 2pm until 4pm at St Serf’s, Lochgelly. Everyone is welcome to drop in for a few minutes or for the whole time to chat and have a cup of tea or coffee.

DEACONS25thANNIVERSARY

There will be a joint service on 6th Nov. at 10.30am in St Serf’s, Benarty to celebrate the 25^th anniversary of Pat’s ordination as a Deacon. This will be followed by a lunch at St Serf’s, Lochgelly. If you would like to attend the lunch, please put your name on the list provided so we know how many people to cater for. Will be in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre, Dunfermline, on Wednesday 19th October 2011, from 10.00am till 5.00pm. This is your opportunity to scribe a verse from the Book which shaped our nation, and be part of the biggest community Bible ever published. More details of this event are on the Notice Boards in both buildings.

HIKE & BIKE

This event is to raise funds for the Church, and E.M.M.S INTERNATIONAL which provides support for those in need around the world. St. Serf’s, Lochgelly and St. Serf’s, Benarty will both be open from 10am until 6pm on Saturday 3rd September to provide rest breaks and refreshments for those taking part. If you would like to take part in this event, or help on the day with the refreshments, please speak to the Minister, Deacon, David Smith or Margaret Mateos.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

In October we are hoping to start a meeting to help those in our congregation or parish who have had a bereavement. This will take the form of a ‘Drop-in’ time so that anyone could come in for a few minutes or the whole time to chat and have a cup of tea or coffee. The first one will be on Wed 5^th October from 2pm until 4pm at St Serf’s Lochgelly (small hall). If there is anyone who would be interested in helping with this or indeed attending this, please speak to Pat Munro.

PRESBYTERY SAFEGAURDING TRAINING/ DISCLOSURE CHECKS

Will be held on Saturday 27th August in St. Serf’s, Lochgelly 10am - 1pm.

Anyone working with young people of our church or a member of the Pastoral Care Group you need to attend this meeting. You also need to have a disclosure check carried out. Please ensure that you give your name to Lis or Pat as soon as possible. If you have already completed a safeguarding training you may wish to update your training as things are changing all the time.

If you have already had a disclosure check carried out you will need to have a new disclosure check next year in 2012!!

All in P1 to P7 are welcome (including those about to start P1 in August). Under school age may attend provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult.
